The PBY MEMORIAL FOUNDATION, established September 22, 1998, is dedicated to the preservation of Naval aviation history, the PBY Catalina, and the Seaplane Base at Oak Harbor, Whidbey Island, Washington. Our initial mission was to preserve the PBY and all seaplanes once based at the seaplane facility on Whidbey Island. We now include all aircraft that have been based and flown from NAS Whidbey Island from 1942 to the present day.

The Catalina Society is the supporters club for the PBY5. A Catalina Our aim is to keep this beautiful old flying boat airworthy for many years to come. By forming the society, we have brought together people who share our aim. But more importantly, you will be joining a dedicated group of enthusiasts who can proudly associate themselves with their aircraft.

Second Emergency Rescue Squadron: The purpose of this organization was to accompany fighter and bomber squadrons, effecting immediate rescue of their crews, whos misfortune may lie in being set adrift on the open sea.
